The County Registrar of voters has announced that voters in the Yucca Valley Airport District passed Measure Z in a special mail-in election. Measure Z will impose a special tax only on the 44 voters who own property around the Yucca Valley airport. The tax of two cents per square foot will provide funds to maintain and operate the airport, as required by the Local Agency Formation Commission. According to the final tally, 30 ballots were received, and 25 were in favor of the special tax. State law requires that two-thirds of the votes cast must be in favor of the special tax.
