YUCCA VALLEY RESIDENT ARRESTED AFTER HOME INVASION ROBBERY SUNDAY

Yucca Valley police arrested one man Sunday in connection with a home invasion robbery—the resident who reported the robbery. According to a Sheriff’s report, Patrick Banfield, 20, called police to report a home invasion robbery about 1:30 Sunday afternoon in the 6300 block of Linda Lee Drive. Banfield told police a man he knew as “Davey Boy” came to look at a room he had for rent. Banfield said when he let the man in, the suspect pulled out a sawed-off shotgun, and demanded his money, prescription medications, and keys to the rental car. Banfield said the suspect then fired the shotgun into his home, hit him in the head with the gun, and fled in his rental car. During the investigation, deputies determined Banfield had a no-bail warrant for his arrest and found a baggy of suspected heroin on Banfield during a search. Patrick Banfield was arrested on the warrant and on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance. He is being held at the Morongo Basin Jail. The home invasion robbery is under investigation.
