YUCCA VALLEY PLANNING COMMISSIONS PUBLIC HEARING ON STREET VENDORS

The Yucca Valley Planning Commission held a public hearing on street vendors, and how to protect the public from potential nuisances that may be caused by vendors. Assignment reporter Keith Bailey was at the meeting and files this report…

At last night’s Yucca Valley Planning Commission meeting, the commissioners learned that vendors can operate from any sidewalk or any approved pedestrian pathway, nor can the town place any restrictions on sidewalk vendors that it doesn’t already place on regular businesses. The commissioners also learned there cannot be a complete prohibition on selling in any parks owned and operated by the town.

The commissioners also approved a request by Burrtec to revise its site plan for a smaller building size for the Sunnyslope Project.

Assistant City Planner Diane Olson

In other news the Planning Commission said farewell to the Assistant City Planner Diane Olson who is leaving the Yucca Valley Planning Department for a new job in Twentynine Palms.
