The Yucca Valley Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on an amendment to the development code on the safe sidewalk vending act. At the Planning Commission’s meeting on August 27, the commissioners discussed what ordinances could be put in place to regulate the potential noise and light nuisance that could be generated by vendors operating near schools during school hours. If more time is needed to develop the necessary ordinances, the commission has the option to continue the public hearing to October 22, or they can submit the recommendations from tonight’s meeting to the Town Council for consideration. The Commission is also expected to approve Burrtec’s new building plan. The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. tonight in the Yucca Valley Community Center at 57090 Twentynine Palms Highway in Yucca Valley.
