The Yucca Valley Planning Commission held its regular meeting last night. Assignment reporter Keith Bailey was in attendance and files this report.
The Yucca Valley Planning Commission approved a request from Burrtec to relocate 18 Joshua Trees currently on their project site. Commissioners were adamant about ensuring the safety of the 18 trees to be transplanted. Representatives from Burrtec reassured the commissioners that the Joshua Trees would receive a much higher level of care than they do currently. The commissioners also discussed a report on murals in Old Town. During the discussion commissioners expressed their admiration for the murals depicted in Twentynine Palms. Commissioners like the idea of having murals in Old Town and discussed the idea of establishing an Arts Council to help with the artistic direction of murals.
