YUCCA VALLEY PLANNING COMMISSION MEETS TO DISCUSS MEASURES FOR WESTERN JOSHUA TREES AND PRIVATE LAND USE DEVELOPMENT

The Yucca Valley Planning Commission meets tonight (January 11) with a light agenda that includes measures related to Western Joshua Trees and an update on private land development. Reporter Jef Harmatz has a breakdown of what you can expect.

At tonight’s regularly scheduled meeting, the Planning Commission will consider requests to encroach within 10 feet of six Western Joshua Trees (in the 8400 block of Elk Trail, the 7600 block of Joshua Lane, the 7300 block on Condalia Ave, and the 56000 block of Onaga Trail,) and the removal of four dead detached Western Joshua Tree limbs (in the 6700 block of Sage Ave, the 57000 block of Joshua Lane, and the 56000 block of Yuma Trail) at various residential locations around town. The planning commissioners will also receive an update on private land development from town staff, and there will be time for open public comment. The meeting will be held tonight at 6 p.m. at the Yucca Valley Community Center and can be attended online via the link below.
