A controversial application for a home-based firearms business has been withdrawn and will not be the on the Yucca Valley Planning Commission agenda tonight. Managing Editor Tami Roleff tells us what will be…
At tonight’s meeting of the Yucca Valley Planning Commission, commissioners had intended to hear from the public about a request for a home occupation permit to buy and sell firearms from a home in the 8200 block of Keats Avenue in Yucca Valley, but the hearing was canceled after the application was withdrawn by the applicant. So the only item on tonight’s agenda is a request to subdivide a 2 ½-acre parcel in the Prescott Center, at Prescott Avenue and Highway 62, into three parcels. The applicant intends to build two, single-story buildings on the parcels, including a 3,000 square-foot fast food restaurant with a drive-through, and a 16,000 square-foot building with leasable spaces and 84 parking spots. Tonight’s meeting is set for 6 p.m. in the Yucca Room of the community center.
