YUCCA VALLEY PLANNING COMMISSION GETS UPDATE ON UPCOMING RETAIL PROJECTS

The Yucca Valley Planning Commission got an update on some upcoming commercial development projects and new businesses last night. Managing editor Tami Roleff was at that meeting and files this report…
The Yucca Valley Planning Commission gave the go-ahead nod, at its meeting last night, to a developer who wants to build a fast food restaurant and retail/office space on the southeast corner of Prescott Avenue and the Highway. The commissioners were told the developer is getting approval for the project first before going out to find tenants to lease the restaurant and retail/office spaces. The developer, Force-Gottlieb LLC, is also responsible for the Warren Vista Center, which includes the new Rite Aid store and the retail and restaurant spaces currently under construction there. While the application flew through the Planning Department, being submitted just 52 days ago, it may be a year, or perhaps even two years, before construction actually begins on the project, partly due to finding tenants for the project, and partly due to having to work with CalTrans to put in a traffic signal at Prescott Avenue and other highway improvements.
