At last evening’s planning commission meeting, commissioners were surprised when 20 people showed up to protest an issue that was not on the agenda—the proposed El Cielo campground, at 58225 Brown Drive in the Western Hills area.

The commissioners could not make any comments or take any actions because the proposed project was not on the agenda. Commissioners also discussed using the Hi-Desert Water District’s water use ordinance as a template to revise the town’s development code for landscaping and water conservation.
