YUCCA VALLEY PLANNING COMMISSION GETS PROJECT UPDATES

The Yucca Valley Planning Commission approved a request from the owner of the property at 5911 Palm Avenue in the Western Hills Estates area to reduce the side yard setback from 15 feet to five feet, and to vacate the 33-foot easement on the east property line so the owner can build a new home. The commission continued a public hearing on the safe sidewalk vending act to September 24. The commission heard updates on proposals for a Jersey Mike’s and new Domino’s restaurants with drive-thru, as well as two 5,000 square-foot dine-in restaurants located on the corner of Twentynine Palms Highway and Balsa Avenue, as well as a service station with convenience store located on the north side of Twentynine Palms Highway between Hanford Avenue and Prescott Avenue.
