Joshua Springs Calvary Chapel wants to install a 28-square foot electronic messaging sign in front of its building on Joshua Lane, and has requested a variance to do so. At tonight’s regular meeting of the Yucca Valley Planning Commission, town staff has recommended that the planning commission deny the variance, saying the allowable size of the sign is only 6 square feet. In other business, the planning commission will hold a continuation of its public hearings on accessory structures on single-family residential lots. And finally, the commission will elect a new chair and vice chair. The meeting starts at 6 p.m. in the Yucca Room of the Yucca Valley Community Center.
