The Yucca Valley Planning Commission approved one variance and denied another last night. Managing Editor Tami Roleff explains…
Saying that there were many other properties adjacent to the airport that had hangers that were oversized for their lots, the Yucca Valley Planning Commission approved a request at its meeting last night for a variance to allow a 1,600 square foot hanger to be built when the development code allowed only an 1,100 square foot structure. But commissioners denied a variance for Harbor Freight to add four 25-square foot signs along the front of its building to advertise some of the products it sells. Commissioners said it would set a precedent for other businesses. However, commissioners urged the applicant to come back with an alternate proposal.
