Following their discussion about the home-based occupancy permit for firearms sales, the Commissioners received an update about the Senior Housing Project. The project has lost some funding, and so the developer, National CORE, has had to make some minor changes to the product. While the number of apartments has remained the same at 75, the exterior design has changed slightly and the square footage of common areas has been reduced, due to the moving of one of the building’s wings and the elimination of a corridor. After accepting the changes to the project, the planning commissioners heard a report on five-year-capital improvements to the Town. Over the next five years, the town will be spending $11 million on infrastructure projects like curbs, gutters and sidewalks, raised medians, traffic signals, of which a very small portion of that money will be coming out of the Town’s coffers.
