After swearing in Margie Trandem as the new planning commissioner, the Yucca Valley Planning Commission quickly dispatched its routine business at its meeting last night of approving an environmental assessment and conditional use permit for Time Warner Cable to add 1300 square feet to its building on La Contenta, and a time extension for a retail project on Prescott Avenue. During staff comments, the planning commission learned that Sage Estates has finally cleared a stumbling block with Southern California Edison regarding high voltage lines that were hindering working on the subdivision for the last six months. Firehouse Subs and Sally Beauty Supply—in front of Home Depot—have both pulled tenant improvement permits. Steak N Shake is still in plan check.
