YUCCA VALLEY PLANNING COMMISSION: A NEW GROCERY STORE, 2 VHR PERMITS

A new grocery store, a hearing on the Yucca Valley Housing Element, and a consideration of whether two short-term vacation rentals should be granted permits will be on tonight’s agenda of the Yucca Valley Planning Commission. Managing editor Tami Roleff fills in the details…

At tonight’s meeting of the Yucca Valley Planning Commission, commissioners will be asked to grant approval of a conditional use permit for an Aldi grocery store, which will be located in the commercial center behind Rite Aid. Next up is a workshop on the town’s housing element, in which residents can identify specific housing needed in the town, and give ideas on how the town can improve housing in the future. Finally, commissioners will be asked whether two short-term vacation rentals should be granted permits to operate in the town. Both locations—55710 Free Gold Drive and 57078 Monticello Road—have been operating between six months and several years without a permit. Tonight’s meeting starts at 6 p.m. in the Yucca Room of the Yucca Valley Community Center, or see this story about how to participate online.
