The Yucca Valley High School Trojan Marching Band and Color Guard invite the community to a Finals Send Off Performance tonight at the high school’s Trojan Stadium. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. for the 6 p.m. performance. This is the last public performance for the award-winning ensemble before the California State Band Championship Division Finals in Orange County on Saturday morning, November 19. The performance is free, but donations will help defray travel and regular season expenses. The finals represent the culmination of a highly successful season, according to high school music director Bill Barrett. Barrett attributes the band’s successes to the student’s hard work and dedication, their many hundreds of hours in rehearsal, assistance from band alumni, coaching from Marine Corporal Tiara George, and the support and enthusiasm from volunteers, parents, and the community.
