A Yucca Valley man with nearly $1 million in drug warrants was arrested Wednesday (June 21), accused of DUI and possession of methamphetamine. According to Sheriff’s reports, Deputies were called to the 57100 block of Highway 62 in Yucca Valley around 10 a.m. by a caller who believed they had spotted a suspect who was wanted for spouse abuse and firearm theft. Arriving Deputies determined the man, Edward Berry, 46, was not that wanted suspect, but was wanted for nearly $1 million in drug warrants. During a search, Deputies located suspected methamphetamine. Edward Berry was arrested of investigation of being in possession of methamphetamine, DUI, driving with a suspended license from a previous DUI, and on $975,000 in warrants for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, and being under the influence of a controlled substance. He was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail and later cited and released.
