YUCCA VALLEY MAN WITH $300K IN WARRANTS ACCUSED OF DRUG POSSESSION

A Yucca Valley man with Sheriff’s warrants was arrested Wednesday (August 25) accused of being in possession of morphine and methamphetamine. According to Sheriff’s reports, Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of Valley View Street and Plaza Road. During the stop, the driver provided a false name to deputies. During their investigation, Deputies correctly identified the driver as John Powers, 30, who had a $250,000 felony warrant for receiving stolen property and a $50,000 misdemeanor warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia. During a search, Deputies located suspected methamphetamine and morphine. Edward Powers was arrested for investigation of being in possession of suspected morphine and suspected methamphetamine, and on his $300,000 in warrants. He was booked into the West Valley Detention Center where he is being held without bail.
