A Yucca Valley man was arrested early Sunday morning, accused of drunk driving with a juvenile in the car. According to a Sheriff’s report, about 4:30 a.m., deputies received a call about a reckless driver on Highway 62 in Yucca Valley who was swerving and nearly hitting the highway dividers. A deputy located a Toyota Camry that matched the vehicle’s description near Aviation Drive. Driving the car was Enrique Macias, 24. After a field sobriety test indicated that Macias was driving under the influence of alcohol, Macias allegedly admitted to the deputy that he regretted driving with a minor in the car. Enrique Macias was arrested for investigation of child endangerment, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $100,000. A passenger in the car, Desiree Macias, 32, also of Yucca Valley, was arrested on a $100,000 outstanding warrant for driving under the influence, and also booked into the Morongo Basin Jail. The 15-year-old juvenile was driven to a relative’s home in Yucca Valley.
