The dirtbiker injured in a crash on Sunfair dry lake has succumbed to his injuries, according to his family.
On November 4, the California Highway Patrol responded to an off-highway crash in the Sunfair dry lake area of Joshua Tree, reporting that Gary Ray Dean Austin, a 22 year-old Yucca Valley resident, had been riding a Kawasaki KLX110 in the open desert without a helmet. The CHP said Austin lost control of the motorcycle and crashed, sustaining a serious head injury.
