A Yucca Valley man who allegedly robbed two 80-something Palm Springs residents at knifepoint and stole their car, was behind bars in Joshua Tree Thursday. Daniel Volrich, 24, was arrested Wednesday at a Yucca Valley home for investigation of the crimes, which occurred August 26. The victims had left their garage door open and were confronted in their home by Volrich with a knife who demanded cash and keys to their car, Palm Springs police said. The man took some items from the home and fled in the couple’s 2003 Acura TL; the car was recovered August 29 in Bridgeport, California.
