Yucca Valley man out on bail arrested for third time since October

A man out on bail for charges related to domestic violence was arrested on suspicion of burglarizing and vandalizing his ex’s home.
On Thursday (January 8) at around 3:45 p.m., San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a burglary in the 6000 block of Encelia Avenue in Twentynine Palms. The victim told deputies that her ex pushed through the front door of her home, stole items, and destroyed furniture and personal items. The Sheriff’s Department identified the suspect as Malakhi Hornesby, a 20 year-old resident of Yucca Valley. On Friday (January 9), deputies contacted Hornesby at his home in the 7400 block of Yucca Avenue in Yucca Valley where he was taken into custody without incident.
Hornesby is currently out on bail after two arrests. The first arrest was related to an October 1 in which Hornesby is accused of threatening a school official and resisting arrest. Hornesby was arrested again on October 31 on suspicion of domestic violence and resisting arrest.
Malakhi Hornesby was arrested on suspicion of burglary, vandalism, and violating a court order preventing domestic violence and is being held at the West Valley Detention Center on $250,000
