YUCCA VALLEY MAN LINKED TO LANDERS BREAK-INS

A Yucca Valley man was arrested Friday after two neighbors in Landers reported break-ins. According to a Sheriff’s report, a resident in the 55900 block of Montara Road said sometime between 2:30 and 5 p.m. Friday, someone broke into a Conex storage container on the property and stole porcelain dolls, comic books, and other items. Evidence at the scene led the deputy to a home in the 56000 block of Valli Hi, where the deputy located a 2005 Yamaha dirt bike that had been stolen from a property on Novato Road. Evidence at the Novato home led the deputy to a home in the 55800 block of Robinson in Landers. There the deputy located Justin Channell, 31, who had two warrants for his arrest for drugs. The deputy did not locate any of the stolen property with Channell. Justin Channell was arrested on his warrants, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
