YUCCA VALLEY MAN KILLED PUSHING HIS MOTORCYCLE ACROSS HIGHWAY

A Yucca Valley motorcycle rider was killed after he was struck by a vehicle in Morongo Valley Friday evening. According to CHP Officer Caleb Miller, Mark Wright, 58, had run out of gas and was pushing his 2005 Honda Shadow motorcycle across the westbound lanes of traffic on Highway 62 near T-Circle Drive about 5 p.m. Friday. Miller said two vehicles were traveling in the number one, or fast lane. As the vehicle in front slowed for Wright, Timothy Peterson, 33, of Twentynine Palms pulled his 2008 Jeep Laredo into the right lane to pass the slower vehicle, and hit Wright. Mark Wright was taken to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs, where he died of his injuries about 10:30 p.m.
