A Yucca Valley man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Morongo Valley Saturday night (July 31). According to a report from the California Highway Patrol, officers were called to the scene of a traffic collision around 7:25 p.m. Witnesses told arriving officers that the victim, later identified as Paul Curbow, 55, was riding a green Harley-Davidson motorcycle westbound on Highway 62 west of Hess Boulevard in Morongo Valley when the motorcycle began drifting to the right as it traveled through a left-hand turn. The motorcycle crossed over the white line and struck the metal guard rail. After impacting the guard rail, Curbow was ejected from the motorcycle and sustained fatal injuries. Curbow was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics upon arrival. The incident is being investigated by Officer J. Kobaly. The CHP is reminding motorcyclists to watch their speed and to always wear a Department of Transportation (DOT)-compliant helmet as well as wear brightly colored and reflective protective gear.
