A Yucca Valley man was arrested Wednesday, accused of stealing a laptop computer from a business. According to a Sheriff’s report, an employee from the Rent-a-Center store in the 57200 block of 29 Palms Highway in Yucca Valley called deputies about 2:15 p.m. Wednesday to report that a man had walked out of the store with a laptop. About 5 p.m., a store employee called again to say she saw the suspect at a convenience store in the same shopping center. Deputies contacted Shane Willis, 46, who allegedly admitted that he had taken the laptop without paying for it. Willis then led deputies to where he had hidden the laptop in the alley. Shane Willis was arrested for investigation of grand theft, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $50,000.
