YUCCA VALLEY MAN FOUND WITH A STOLEN TRAILER

A Yucca Valley man was arrested Saturday after deputies found him with a stolen trailer. About 10 a.m. Saturday, the owner of the trailer called Sheriff’s deputies to report that his stolen trailer was in a yard in the 3800 block of Balsa Avenue in Yucca Valley. When the deputy asked the resident, later identified as Johnny Ojeda, 66, about the trailer, Ojeda said he had bought the trailer and a vehicle from someone on Old Woman Springs Road for $400. A Sheriff’s report says that Ojeda admitted he thought the trailer and vehicle were probably stolen since they were so cheap. Ojeda was unable to provide any information about the seller or proof of the sale. He told the deputy he had meant to call law enforcement about the stolen items, but had been too busy to do so. After an investigation, Johnny Ojeda was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property and for outstanding warrants, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $100,000.
