A motorcyclist who died in a collision in Lakeside on July 16 has been identified as a Yucca Valley man.
The San Diego County Coroner’s office last week identified the deceased as Stephen Corbin, a 65 year-old resident of Yucca Valley. According to the Coroner’s office, Corbin was driving his motorcycle northbound on State Route 67 in Lakeside at 6:30 a.m. on July 16, when for unknown reasons, he laid his motorcycle down prior to its front wheel striking the center divider. The decedent and motorcycle continued to travel along the roadway coming to rest approximately 300 feet north of its collision point with the center divider.
A passerby called 911, and paramedics performed lifesaving measures before declaring him dead at the scene. The coroner confirmed Corbin’s cause of death as multiple blunt force injuries.
