YUCCA VALLEY MAN DEAD, BROTHER ACCUSED OF MURDER

A Yucca Valley man is dead, and his brother was arrested for his murder early Saturday morning. According to a Sheriff’s Department press release, Jerry Zimmerle, 25, and Justin Zimmerle, 24, were fighting in the 7500 block of Palm Avenue shortly after 2:30 a.m. Saturday when Jerry Zimmerle is accused of pulling out a knife and stabbing Justin Zimmerle in his upper body. Justin Zimmerle was still alive when deputies and paramedics arrived at 2:45. He was taken to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs, where he died several hours later. The press release states that the doctors did not believe that the stab wounds were life-threatening, but they could not rule them out as a contributing factor to Justin Zimmerle’s death. Justin Zimmerle suffered from pre-existing medical conditions. Jerry Zimmerle was arrested for investigation of murder, booked at the West Valley Detention Center, and is being held without bail.
