A Yucca Valley man was arrested on Friday, December 21, accused of being in possession of stolen property. According to a Sheriff’s report, Alphonso Green, 37, attempted to sell a vehicle online. Green reportedly drove the vehicle to the Department of Motor Vehicles in Twentynine Palms with a potential buyer to complete the transaction. A CHP officer was called to the DMV when the vehicle showed up in the DMV database as stolen. When the CHP officer identified Green as having a felony no bail warrant, the case was handed over to Sheriff’s Deputies. Green reportedly admitted to being in possession of the vehicle, but claimed to have no knowledge that it had been stolen. With no transaction having taken place, the potential buyer was dismissed from the scene. The vehicle was impounded by the CHP. Alphonso Green was arrested for investigation of being in possession of a stolen vehicle and for his felony no bail warrant and booked into the West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $175,000.
