A Yucca Valley man was arrested Tuesday (December 14), accused of possessing a dangerous weapon. According to Sheriff logs, deputies responded to the intersection of Yucca Trail and Aster Avenue in Yucca Valley around 11:30 p.m. and contacted Ivan Aguilar, 22. Following a records check on Aguilar, deputies discovered he had three active misdemeanor warrants. A check of Aguilar’s person and backpack allegedly resulted in deputies finding a black double-edged 4-inch blade dagger and a black collapsible baton. Sheriff logs indicate that Aguilar admitted to having the weapons and that he was aware that the dagger could possibly be used to stab someone. Ivan Aguilar was then arrested for investigation of possession of a dangerous weapon, along with his misdemeanor warrants, and booked into the West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $250,000.
