YUCCA VALLEY MAN ARRESTED FOR SPOUSE ABUSE

A Yucca Valley man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of spousal abuse after his wife of five years was admitted to the hospital for emergency surgery. According to a Sheriff’s report, David Flaningam, 27, of the 59100 block of Wilcox   Lane, struck his wife with a closed fist on her left side, which caused her kidney to start hemorrhaging. The woman was taken to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs for emergency surgery. The report states that Flaningam admitted to, and apologized for, hitting his wife during a subsequent phone call. David Flaningam was arrested for felony spouse abuse, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $100,000.
