Yucca Valley man arrested on suspicion of DUI and car theft

After allegedly leading a pursuit through the hi-desert, a man with an active warrant for DUI hit and run was arrested in Yucca Valley on suspicion of DUI and car theft.

On Wednesday (October 30) at around 8 p.m., an officer with the California Highway Patrol attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Stosh Stephens, 33. Records indicate that Stephens failed to comply with officers, and led a pursuit through the Morongo Basin with disregard for the safety of other drivers.

Stephens was eventually stopped by the CHP on Twentynine Palms Highway near Fox Trail. He was found to have an active warrant out of Long Beach for investigation into DUI and hit and run

Stosh Stephens was arrested on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle, assault with a deadly weapon, driving under the influence of drugs, and evading a police officer, and is being held at the West Valley Detention Center on $100,000 bail.
