Yucca Valley man arrested for suspected animal cruelty, shooting at dog from car

A Yucca Valley man was arrested on Friday (December 23) for suspicion of shooting at a dog with a pellet gun from a vehicle.

At around 1:30 p.m., an concerned citizen called 911 to report that a fleeing dog was being shot at by a suspect in a vehicle driving near the 55000 block of Navajo Trail in Yucca Valley. Sheriff’s Deputies identified the suspect as Brian Luis Chandler, a 42 year-old resident of Yucca Valley. Deputies located a long pellet rifle that belongs to Chandler during their investigation. They later located the dog, who appeared to be unharmed.

Morongo Basin Animal control was notified of the incident.

Brian Luis Chandler was arrested for investigation of Cruelty to Animals and booked into the Morongo Basin Jail.
