A Yucca Valley transient was arrested early Thursday morning, accused of kidnapping and assaulting a woman. According to Sheriff’s reports, the woman said she was camping when she met David Graham, 36, on Sunday, March 12, who convinced her to get into his car. Once in the car, he held her captive for three days. During that time, she said he slammed her head into the car’s window, hit her with a metal flashlight, pointed a gun at her, and told her he would kill her if she left. On Wednesday, deputies had contact with Graham and the victim two times, but she said she was too afraid to say anything to them. Then, about 11 p.m. Wednesday night, the woman managed to escape from the car and ran for help to a residence near the intersection of Sunnyslope Drive and Palm Avenue in Yucca Valley. She was taken to Hi-Desert Medical Center for treatment of her injuries. About 2:15 a.m. Thursday morning, Deputy Adrian Garcia located Graham in his vehicle near the intersection of Kickapoo Trail and Highway 62 in Yucca Valley. Garcia searched Graham’s vehicle and found an airsoft pistol. David Graham was arrested for investigation of kidnapping, false imprisonment, assault with a deadly weapon, and making criminal threats. He was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $250,000.
