Just after 11 p.m. on Wednesday (October 13), Sheriff deputies at the Morongo Basin station attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle at the intersection of Onaga Trail and Warren Vista Avenue in Yucca Valley. The driver of the alleged stolen vehicle failed to yield to law enforcement and instead lead them on a more than 18-mile-long pursuit through Yucca Valley, Landers, and Joshua Tree. California Highway Patrol assisted the Sheriff with spike strips which stopped the suspect. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Jeremiah Polston, 21 of Yucca Valley. Polston is on active Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) and was subsequently arrested for suspicion of PRCS violations, possession of a stolen vehicle, and felony pursuit. Jeremiah Polston is being held at the Morongo Basin Jail with no bail.
