A Yucca Valley man was arrested following a welfare check at the Travelodge in Yucca Valley. On Saturday (November 6), deputies for the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station and the Multiple Enforcement Team (MET) for the Town of Yucca Valley conducted a welfare check at the Travelodge in Yucca Valley for a report of sales and distribution of narcotics and alleged child abuse. During the investigation, deputies contacted Blake Amaro, 24, and located a large amount of controlled substances, narcotics, ammunition, and a shotgun. Deputies also seized a large amount of currency. A female victim was also at the location and was safely returned to her family.
Amaro was arrested for possession of a controlled substance while armed, possession of narcotics for sale, and child cruelty. Blake Amaro was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail and is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
