Yucca Valley man arrested for brandishing a knife; PA announcements used during removal

A man was arrested for investigation into assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly brandishing a knife at a victim in a Yucca Valley residence.
On Friday, January 2, at around 5:00 p.m., San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home in the 8100 block of Tamarisk Avenue in Yucca Valley.
Deputies say that a victim called deputies and reported that Tommy Manzella, 67, brandished a knife at her and began destroying items inside the home. Deputies report the victim said she was fearful of the situation and was hiding in the garage. Upon their arrival deputies say they attempted to contact Manzella, who refused to exit the residence. The victim exited the home safely without injury, and deputies used Public Address announcements in an attempt to encourage Manzella to leave the residence. According to deputies, Manzella exited the residence approximately 20 minutes later and was taken into custody.
Tommy Manzella was arrested for an investigation into assault with a deadly weapon that is not a firearm. He has since been released on bail.
