A Yucca Valley man was arrested Friday (April 8), accused of attempting to run over a group of juveniles with his car. According to Sheriff’s logs, deputies responded to the 58800 block of Sunflower Drive in Yucca Valley just before 3 p.m. for a report that a neighbor was reportedly attempting to run kids over with his vehicle. After investigation, deputies reported that a white four-door sedan attempted to hit a group of three juveniles and a witness identified Richard Kopasek, 69, as the driver of the sedan. Richard Kopasek was arrested for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $50,000.
