YUCCA VALLEY MAN ARRESTED FOLLOWING SPOUSE ABUSE

A Yucca Valley man was arrested Tuesday afternoon, after a neighbor saw him punching a woman. According to a Sheriff’s report, a neighbor called to report that a man, identified as James Burke, 23, had pinned a woman down on the couch and was hitting her. When the neighbor confronted Burke, Burke ignored her, but he later went to the neighbor’s door, which she refused to open to him. The report states Burke was uncooperative with deputies. James Burke was arrested on suspicion of felony spouse abuse, and for several warrants for possession of a controlled substance and petty theft. James Burke was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with his total bail set at $250,000.
