A Yucca Valley man was arraigned yesterday on charges that he beat his ex-girlfriend and threatened her. According to a Sheriff’s report, Kenneth Ryburn, 29, went to his ex-girlfriend’s home in the 7000 block of Conejo Avenue in Joshua Tree about 4 p.m. Tuesday. Ryburn is accused of grabbing the woman around the throat, slamming her against the wall, and then throwing her to the ground. The victim told police Ryburn took her cell phone and left. Ryburn was arrested about 11:15 that night in the 4600 block of Road Runner in Yucca Valley. Kenneth Ryburn was charged in Joshua Tree Court with domestic battery and threatening a crime, with his bail set at $50,000 for each count. In August, Kenneth Ryburn pled guilty to making criminal threats in exchange for dropping a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon, and was sentenced to 140 days in county jail.
