YUCCA VALLEY MAN ARRESTED AFTER SHOOTING SHOTGUN OUT HIS WINDOW

Neighbors were alarmed and called 911 when they heard a shotgun blast coming from a residence in the 7400 block of Apache Trail in Yucca Valley about 5:30 Tuesday evening. Responding deputies determined that, for unknown reasons, Chais Burtsell, 28, shot a 12-gauge shotgun out his bedroom window. Neighbors gave conflicting accounts of how many shots were fired, but deputies recovered four spent shotgun shells inside Burtsell’s residence, along with four more live rounds. Chais Burtsell was arrested for investigation of negligent discharge of a firearm, booked at the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $50,000.
