YUCCA VALLEY MAN ARRESTED AFTER OHV PURSUIT AND BRIEF STANDOFF

A Yucca Valley man was arrested after an off-road pursuit and brief standoff with Sheriff’s Deputies. Saturday, December 22, Deputies were conducting OHV patrols in the county area of Yucca Valley around 10:45 a.m. According to a Sheriff’s report, During their patrols, Deputies identified Steven Martin, 47, of Yucca Valley who was wanted on a warrant for investigation of making criminal threats. As Deputies approached Martin’s Silverado pickup truck, Martin reportedly put the truck in reverse to flee.

The Deputy pursued Martin in an OHV, eventually getting Martin to stop his vehicle. Despite multiple orders from Deputies, Martin refused to exit the vehicle, and had to be forcibly removed from the vehicle. Deputies located drugs and drug paraphernalia on Martin and, during a search of the vehicle, deputies located a container containing suspected methamphetamine.

Steven Martin was arrested for investigation of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and for his warrant and booked into the West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $475,000.
