A Yucca Valley man was arrested Friday following a high-speed pursuit through Joshua Tree. About 2:20 a.m. Friday, a deputy saw a vehicle, driven by Jeremiah Polston, 18, run the stop sign at Grand View Circle and Desert Air. When the deputy attempted to make a traffic stop, Polston accelerated and sped off. The deputy pursued Polston over 11 miles; Polston ran multiple stop signs, a red light, and reached speeds of 100 miles per hour during the pursuit. The pursuit ended when Polston lost control of his vehicle and collided with a tree, east of Alturas Drive and Sunburst Circle in Joshua Tree. After being treated at Hi-Desert Medical Center, Jeremiah Polston was arrested for investigation of felony failure to yield, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $100,000.
