YUCCA VALLEY MAN ARRESTED AFTER HIGH SPEED CHASE IN SAN BERNARDINO

A Yucca Valley man was arrested in San Bernardino Wednesday, accused of multiple felonies following a pursuit in the city. San Bernardino Police spokesman Sergeant John Echevarria said that after officers witnessed Richard Sanchez, 32, commit an unspecified crime, a pursuit ensued. He said the pursuit began in the downtown area of San Bernardino and ended in the 3900 block of North Genevieve in the northern part of the city. Echevarria said Sanchez eventually surrendered to police and officers found additional evidence inside his vehicle. Richard Sanchez was arrested for investigation of assault with a firearm, shooting at an inhabited dwelling, child endangerment, being a felon in possession of a firearm, resisting arrest, and felony reckless evading, as well as on warrants for spouse abuse and violation of his post-release community supervision. Richard Sanchez was booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his total bail set at $350,000.
