A Yucca Valley man who led deputies on a high-speed pursuit through Yucca Valley Sunday was arrested. About 4:30 a.m. Sunday morning, the deputy saw a vehicle traveling eastbound on Highway 62 with its headlights off near Dryden Avenue. When the deputy activated the patrol car’s lights and sirens, the suspect vehicle made a U-turn at Hilton Avenue and accelerated to 80 miles per hour, speeding through red lights at Airway and Sage Avenues. The driver, identified as Patrick West, 29, then lost control of his vehicle and it crashed into a curb. West got out and fled on foot, but was soon captured. Patrick West was arrested for investigation of felony evading, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $100,000.
