A Yucca Valley man who attempted to flee from a Sheriff’s deputy was arrested Wednesday for felony failure to yield.
According to a Sheriff’s report, a deputy attempted a traffic stop of a vehicle for a cracked windshield about 11:20 a.m. near Onaga Trail and Fox Trail in Yucca Valley. The driver fled westbound on Onaga, reaching speeds of 55 miles per hour and blowing through a stop sign at Hopi Trail. When the driver, later identified as Wayne Major, 25, attempted to make a left turn onto Mariposa Avenue, he crashed his car into a speed limit sign and a fence.
Wayne Major was arrested for investigation of felony failure to yield, and on two warrants—for driving without a license and a seat belt violation.
Major was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $125,000.
