YUCCA VALLEY MAN ARRESTED AFTER AN ASSAULT AT TWENTNYNINE PALMS FARMERS MARKET

A Yucca Valley man was arrested Saturday after he allegedly robbed a woman he was working for in Twentynine Palms. Investigators say that Deneil Washington, 23, was a volunteer who was cleaning up the barbecue smoker by himself for a vendor at the Twentynine Palms farmers’ market near Bucklin Park in Twentynine Palms. He told the vendor about 2:30 p.m. she should pay him and when she said no and told him to leave, Washington allegedly pushed her to the ground and stole her fanny pack containing more than $100. As firefighters responded to the scene, they saw a man matching the description riding a skateboard to the Denny’s in Twentynine Palms and alerted deputies. Deneil Washington was arrested for investigation of robbery, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $100,000.
