YUCCA VALLEY MAN ARRESTED AFTER A PURSUIT IN TWENTYNINE PALMS

A Yucca Valley man was arrested following a pursuit in Twentynine Palms Tuesday. Just before 3 p.m., a deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on a silver Honda Civic that blew through a stop sign at Cottonwood Drive in Twentynine Palms. The driver, later identified as Jerome Eads, 26, fled westbound on Pinon in the car. The deputy said Eads nearly crashed into other cars several times and made numerous other moving violations. The Honda became disabled near Sahara Avenue and Sunset Drive and Eads fled on foot. Eads was apprehended as he tried to enter a home nearby. During a security sweep of the house, deputies saw a loaded 9-mm handgun in plain sight on Eads’ bed. Deputies obtained a search warrant for the house and recovered items that had been reported stolen from a burglary in the area. Jerome Eads was arrested for investigation of felony failure to yield, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $100,000.
