YUCCA VALLEY MAN ADMITS TO HAVING COCAINE AFTER TRAFFIC STOP

A Yucca Valley man was arrested Saturday after he was found with cocaine during a traffic stop. About 9 p.m., a deputy stopped a car near Airway Avenue and Encelia Drive in Yucca Valley for not having a front license plate. During the traffic stop, the driver, identified as Louis Hall, 40, stepped out of the car without being told to do so. The deputy noticed that Hall had slurred speech and smelled of alcohol and arrested him for investigation of driving under the influence. During a search of Hall, the deputy found a clear plastic baggie containing a white powdery substance in Hall’s pants pocket. Hall admitted to the deputy that the powder was cocaine and that he had bought it earlier in the evening. Louis Hall was arrested for investigation of possession of a controlled substance, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $25,000.
